Guess what?! The talented An, from Straight Grain, has released another wonderful sewing pattern! The Laure dress pattern is based on the classic Qipao dress and it comes with various options such as a slim mandarin collar, bow (pictured), cap sleeve, long sleeve, sleeveless, drop waist and more!
An invited me to participate in this blog tour and I'm very honored to participate. This dress pattern (as all of the Straight Grain patterns) is pure perfection! <3 Can you tell I'm a huge fan?!!!
I have another dress all cut out, but I didn't have time to finish sewing it in time for this blog post. It is the Qipao style and I'm very excited to finish it up! I will post it here when I'm done with it. Also, I wanted to take these pictures outside, but the weather has been crazy her and I was forced to take some indoor pictures. Luckily, they didn't turn out too bad. We even had fun taking them! There is always a bright side in everything, right? :D
On this dress, I was going for a more 3/4 sleeve look, so I shortened the sleeves by a few inches.
I chose a small print for this dress, because in my opinion it gives a more classic vintage vibe, which is something I like in children's clothing. I'm very happy with how this dress turned out! I had always wanted to sew a dress with a bow collar and this was the perfect excuse.
I like how this look has very simple lines, yet it is fully customizable and you can mix and match the options at your liking.
This dress pairs well with any accessories, your little miss might like. My daughter likes hats and she was trying to see which one looked best. She was also being a little silly and during the photoshoot. :)
Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope you come back soon. Also, don't forget to check out the Straight-Grain website for this and more gorgeous sewing patterns.
